Two SEC teams meet Monday in the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship when the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (13-1) play the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (13-1). Kickoff at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis is set for 8 p.m. ET and airs on ESPN. Both teams pummelled their CFP semifinals opponents. Alabama cruised past the Cincinnati Bearcats 27-6 as a 12.5-point favorite in the Cotton Bowl and Georgia trounced the Michigan Wolverines 34-11 as a 7.5-point favorite in the Orange Bowl this past weekend.
Georgia’s world-beating defense held Michigan to just 91 rushing yards, won the turnover battle 3-0 and stopped the Wolverines on all three of their fourth-down attempts. The Bulldogs are 9-5 ATS and 6-8 O/U with the 24th-toughest schedule (Sagarin). Georgia is 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS in the College Football Playoffs, which includes a 26-23 overtime loss in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship to Alabama.
